I'll write down my opinion that would like to have as functions.
1. track back
2. I'd like to change the size of picture which is inside of blog text.
too small. and if it is able to click and make it bigger,
that would be perfect.
3. I 'd like to insert pictures in the middle of blog text.

i prefer to enter blog feature from somewhere different from edit. by this may be i can add more users from edit page, and multiple blog writers can be. the users can't change any options about page, but only writes their posts. this is also valid for one user system. for example a link like "post" at the bottom of the page near the "edit". and with different password.
also i like the import feature. i don't try but i think i can write from my mobile phone by joining other services with jimdo. and this make jimdo more accessable. -

A lot of different terms are used for the same thing:
Write a new "article"
"Blog article"
"Blog entry"
"Blog post"
RSS Feed to make it possible for your visitors to subscribe to your blog.
Unclear: what's the url of the rss-feed?
Nice to have:
You should be able to determine the color of the date-icon (current is always blue/white..)
List of blog articles: column headings are not in correct English:
TITEL, DATUM
New blog post:
Scenario: Edit title and teaser but don't click the save button yet.
Instead add a Text or another jimdo-element and click save.
Result: The user sees a preview of the entry with the default title 'New blog post'.
You have to click the title again in order to be able to confirm the title and the preview.
This is a bit confusing.
I'd suggest that the users cannot add elements before confirming (saving) title and teaser.
New blog post:
Onhover-image on the calendar icon (so that the user understands that it is clickable)
After clicking on a blog post, the user navigates the the details of the post but there's no back-link. -

amazing feature set... changes the whole concept of hunting down plugins to do similar things. my question is for pro users who are having their domain host their Jimdo site. I can clearly see the blog posts and how to read or create them while in edit mode on the Jimdo site, but don't know how to access a permalink as someone already mentioned. I'm not even sure how I see the blog from my site (the design is alpha!) http://independentmediachannel.tv
How would I even access this link from the independentmediachannel.tv site as a visitor? - http://www2.jimdo.com/?page=31166903 I tried substituting the domain and that isn't working.
Ditto on how cool it would be add a style sheet interface with more of a a feature set similar to Webjam, or Pageflakes, or Ning.

Things that might be wrong:
-writing new blog posts: all texts in English language, exept bottom line

-loading of teaser images sometimes takes too much time
-element table: e-mail adress cannot be filled in
-edit navigation: loading sometimes too long – 50% of changes do not have effect
-edit navigation: cursor often not visible in fields
-when view is 'complete blogpostings' I cannot return to the homepage of the blog – that is because the option teasers or complete articles is at the bottom of the page. That shoudl be on top.
(good function by the way!)
-I don't know how to remove a picture from a posting.

-list with archive blogpostings per month (February 2008 etc – like in WordPress)

- Archive blog post per month.
- Can we edit the title our post? (colour, fonts etc)
- Can the style of our post. (the date to other colour, type)

Hallo!
I have two comments on submiting comments in the blog.
1) I've deleted one comment, I don't see it anymore. But in the beggining of the blog it still counts the old number.

I'm still trying out the blog but thus far it does not seem to much more useful then the regular rss feed. Although it is somewhat more esthetically pleasely . I am not sure why I was able to load up my Live Journal since when I post on Jimdo it does not also cross post on my LJ. So maybe cross posting is a good idea. But Blogging is a great idea and great tool, and I think Jimdo is one of the best hosts there is. :)

Cool new feature.
Some things missing:
-an archive (per month maybe) of all the articles
this could be used as a back-link for other posts
-search engine for the blog
-separate layout and theme for the blog page only (not on other links)
-Customizable link colors
-Labels (and also to show the labels of each post on the side bar)
-Automatic draft save on the write new post
-the use of avatar for bloggers
some other comments coming.. still trying out the new features...
hope this could be improved... I loved jimdo because I can use customization a lot.. keep it up and more power!

I agree:
1. Tagging features are really needed.
2. An archive or you just end up with an endless stream of blogs down the page.
3. A Tag shower for the side bar so that blogs can be easily accessed by visitors to the site.
Saying that Jimdo is one of the best sites I have found. Believe me I am spreading the word far and wide. -

Still finding my way around and having trouble deleting a blog entry. I haven't had any comments from my blog readers about the feature yet.
I agree the date icon should be customizable.
I also would like a large selection of font colors, sizes and styles to choose from. -

Hi ... I just love the fact we can blog on Jimdo.
I find it rather easy to manover. No major problems.
I would like to be able to choose or create my own layout for just my blogging page... can this be done?
I think archiving articals by month or catagory and leaving the current month visible would keep articals neat and tidy and easy on the eyes... just a thought.

maybe jimdo should release the basic blog features (like the archives or protecting blog articles with a password) so as to let us start blogging first. The other features could be updated along the way...

Great job so far guys.
There are few things I would like to see here.
I would like to have a feature to forward my blogs as a news letter to subscribers.
I would also like to be able to edit my text for the blogs on the page they are located. At this point it appears that you can do it but it does not actually work.

1. Can I have the archive facility very QUICKLY my home page is getting very cluttered and my blogs needs archiving!!!!
2. Can I have the tag feature soon added to my front page. I have noticed that you have added the category feature to the blog, now I need you to start grouping the categories together by tag word and provide a tag element to the front page.
Both these features are becoming quite urgent now because the front page is becoming unworkable has a blog feature.

Two things.
First, since I am interested in using the system to produce a photoblog it would be useful to have some layout options designed to accommodate photoblogs.
Second, it would be good to have more control over the images placed in a blog post - I would like to be able to specify the size in pixels rather than having to hit the + / - keys repeatedly.
That's it so far. I'm sure I'll be back with mor ecomments.
Thanks for making the effort though. I've been looking for blogging alternatives for a while now. -

hope this won't sound too negative.
i am getting extremely frustrated wiht this blog thing.
all i'd like to do is having a blog, like every other blog i see on the net... and i can't manage to do anything here.
i can't understand where i should write it, how do i decid where to post it, how to add pics... absolutely nothing
all i see is a form that lets me write the blog title, choose categories and that's it. nothing else. i have no idea where to write the actual article.
more over, if i choose "publish", then it posts the whole thing on my home page (whereas i'd like my blog to be in a different page)
is it me just being dumb, does it take a PhD in computer programming to do this or am i missing somehting? please help!

I cannot figure out how and where to make the blog posts appear in one page. I started tweaking around and got it working on a new page I labeled "blog," :) and then it disappeared. The blog posts are there, each post on their own separate page - but I don't know how to make it so that there is a "blog" page where all the posts, or a defined number of posts will show up????

Что я хотела бы видеть в разделе блога это возможность добавления картинок, файлов и у меня почему то не работает функция ТИЗЕРа (показа обзора статей). Вещь очень удобная, хотелась бы чтоб работала..
В общем к странице: хотелось бы видеть при возможности изменить HTML страницы, возможность востановить первоисходные параметры Jimdo, а то абра кадабра получаеться и возможности вернуть первоначальный код нету :( -

I'd like to be able to better control the look of the blog when it's in the compilation view. As it currently is, I have no control. I can't even put a horizontal line between each post to distinguish it better.

Hi. For me I'd like to be able to have the blog posts as sub areas, so that the reader can just click on which one they want to read, rather than have to scroll through everything. This also cleans up the frontpage.

Bueno, más arriba escribí que le haría falta un buen BUSCADOR que dividiera bien los ámbitos de búsqueda, entre la web y el blog.
Conforme lo utilizo más, veo otras necesidades, por ejemplo, un buen control del ajuste que divida los post para la función "leer más".
Una cosa más sería poder controlar también el número de post que aparecen, de esta manera se evita cargar la página innecesariamente, y como no, que al final aparezcan los pertinentes comandos "ver más post" o "siguientes" y "anteriores".

as they said before, an archive would be the first thing i would ask for
a link at the end of the blog for older posts (entradas anteriores) could be handful (otherwise no one can see them!)

1) Change fonts without going to edit code
2) Host my own domain name with you guys for free
3) Find out how to read previous posts on my blog (older posts/newer posts) link
4) Find out is I can have less intrusive ads for free
5) Put a horizontal line between my posts and have more control over the editing of my posts while in compose mode
6) Show only part of the post and have the reader click read more to read the rest
7) Be able to change my url
8) Easily edit particular posts
9) Delete more than one post at a time

经过几天的试用，感觉JIMDO有很多Web2.0创新的想法，但是也有一些个人感觉需要改进的
地方（至少说我觉得很不容易让浏览者浏览），如下：
1、除了博客以外的分类栏目也可以在主页上面显示。
2、除了博客以外的分类（或者自己在导航栏新建的分类）的内容能够在主页上面显示（并且可以选择浏览方式），而且除了博客以外的栏目的内容存在这样的缺点：我写一个主题，结果需要很多个
元素组合来完成。希望每次发表一个主题都能把所有元素组合起来，就像博客里面的一样。
3、开一板块可以专门用来显示自己网站的内容做了哪些最新的更新。 -

I am trying to change the name of the blog in the Settings of the blog or click or try to change the trackback settings but always get the message that changes couldn't be saved correctly.
How about categorizing blog entries? Can I create a navigation menu using my categories?
Or navigation by date? -

The teaser settings don't seem to work. I click on the teaser bar, and have teaser length set to 1 or to 5 or any number, but still the whole article shows up.
Also, it doesn't change if I put all in the box for Number or Tag, or if i put a specific tag or specific number. -

Can I change the size / police of a blog article title? It's huge compared to my other titles and therefore does not fit in nicely with the rest of the page.
Thanks for letting me know where I can modify this without modifying all setting for titles on the entire site, or for adding this feature if it's not possible so far! -

Every time I try to change the blog name I get the following error: "The new settings could NOT be saved correctly."
When I click "Ok", nothing got changed or saved (hence the message) but I would like to change that.
You have done an amazing job with Jimdo. I haven't such an easy time and fun putting up a site.

3. Archives for blog - I don't want to put all my articles on home page but if I don't, then my visitors won't be able to see my other posts...I won't either unless I log in.

Definately need a tagging feature, a word cloud would be good. I like the setup, the teaser setup could be better edited to allow different lenths of text, but bearing this in mind i suppose you could mesure the lenth of the first unit to suit. I really think this will be a hit, i have been waiting for a while for you to get your blog out.
Like all new interfaces it takes a little while getting use to. As your blog grows where do the archives go?, need more options for the sidebar to intigrate more blogging elements.

You could do with changing the permalink structure so that the title of the post comes after your site name instead of the date which is not as effective for SEO. The system is very confusing, i have just written another post and published but there is no navigation to get to it unless i copy the permalink and put it on the menue navigation. I was expecting the post to replace the previous one.I dont get it!
I can post an entry on any page, but where does the navigation or post structure appear for the visitor.
